This is what the Boys at the Bay GM said about the trade "Cano is all things considered a very good 2b right now. The market though just isn't too strong on him. Competing teams for the most part have close to or better than Cano at 2b. His contract has also been a problem in moving him, so we'll take the compensation-esque value we get here and part ways with Cano."
